Solar Cells convert sunlight (light not heat) into DC
electricity. Cells are wired together and sealed to form a module. Modules are
normally constructed with a low-iron tempered glass cover,
anodized aluminum frame, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) around the cells, tedlar
back cover and a junction box. Two or more modules are connected together to
form an array. When modules are parallel connected, the voltage output is
the same as one module and the amps are added together. Two 12 volt modules
series connected will have 24 volt output with the same amps as one module.
Single crystal cells are dark gray or black. Poly-crystal cells are blue
speckled. Some large modules are 20 volt instead of 24 volt. These can be used
for charging 12 to 48 volt batteries by using the proper MPPT (Maximum Power
Point Tracking) charge
controller. Connectors - Modules with Connectors do not have a regular junction box. Instead they have pre-wired leads with a male and female plugs for connecting. These plugs are easily connected in series for 24 volt and higher voltages. Special wiring cables are ordered separately to run between modules and combiner box. These durable connectors can save installation time and are popular in larger systems. |

REC Alpha Pure Series
Emerging from REC’s leadership in half-cut cell technology, the Alpha Pure
is built around 132 half-cut heterojunction cells (HJT) and advanced
connection technology, designed by engineering experts from Germany and
Singapore. With HJT, REC combines the benefits of crystalline silicon
solar cells with those of thin film technologies for much higher
efficiency and energy yield, even at higher temperatures.

• Black backsheet (up to 405 Wp).
• REC’s pioneering and award-winning ‘Twin Panel’ design: Introduced in
2014, this delivers demonstrably better performance in shaded conditions.

panels per pallet, an easy installation and allows the Alpha to withstand

REC Solar Professionals (otherwise 20 years), and a 25-year power output

• Even better for the environment: Manufacturing of REC Alpha Pure solar
panels requires less energy, which is further reducing the carbon
footprint.
A ‘best-choice’ product with strong added value With panel power reaching 405 Wp, the Alpha delivers highly impressive power density of 219 watts/m˛, a key consideration when space is tight – like on any rooftop. With the REC Alpha Pure Series' innovative gapless cell layout uses the entire panel surface to generate power, which translates to higher output from less space. This reduces the Balance of System (BoS) costs. In addition to better economics, users can also look forward to an increase in the value of their property: several studies in various countries show that a premium solar installation on the roof is adding value to the property and is a highly desired extra for home-buyers, not least due to the better energy performance rating. |

Modules larger than 165 watts are
normally too
large for UPS shipping and will ship via motor freight. For Truck shipping, the cost about the same
for 1-6 modules.
Full pallets offer the lower cost per module.

Cables have a male fitting on one end and a female fitting on the other end. Use to extend module cables or cut wire in two and connect modules to a wiring box or to your own wiring. Modules with connectors are easily connected in series by plugging one module's positive connector to the next module's negative connector and so on.
